The 8 Best JBL Speakers of 2022

It can also get pretty loud, so if you don't feel like carrying it around, you can still hear your podcast from across the room. All-Purpose Bluetooth Speaker -Take the party everywhere with Flip 4, a portable Bluetooth speaker that delivers powerful stereo sound. With durable, waterproof fabric, this speaker features up to 12 hours of continuous, high-quality audio playtime.

It gets a touch louder, with slightly less compression at max volume, and has a slightly wider-sounding soundstage, though these slight differences aren't too noticeable. The Ultimate Ears HYPERBOOM is a better speaker for music than the JBL PartyBox Encore Essential overall. The Ultimate Ears can get louder with significantly less compression present at max volume, so the audio quality is cleaner when you blast your music.

Best Mid-Range JBL Speaker

It can play stereo content without downmixing it to mono, so you can hear sound effects and instruments moving from one side of the speaker to the other. For example, if a song has the guitar on the left and the cymbals on the right, you'll hear the guitar coming from the left side of the Encore Essential and the cymbals from the right. However, it has a narrow and directional-sounding soundstage since it only projects audio from the front side of the speaker, as opposed to speakers with 360-degree designs. As a result, your audio sounds slightly different when listening from different angles, like when you're listening from behind the speaker. The cloth edge above the JBL logo sports three rather high-profile buttons for adjusting the volume and playback.

The JBL Clip 4 is a great alternative to the GO 3 for listeners who want an even louder output and more robust, versatile carry system. The Clip features an integrated carabiner that’s easy to operate single-handedly when placing it onto a backpack. Sound quality is quite good for a speaker this small, and while the bass response won’t blow you away, it will satisfy you more than what the GO 3 has to offer. The JBL GO 3 is a Bluetooth speaker that uses the 5.1 firmware to connect to your device of choice. It only supports the SBC codec, which is a little disappointing, but not terribly surprising—outdoor speakers rarely go in for high-quality codecs like aptX or AAC. This is fine seeing how the GO 3 serves as an adventure speaker, though you may run into some audio-visual lag if you watch videos while paired to it.

This JBL speakers review thinks that the brand’s products are easily worth the buy. This brand seems safe when it comes to their stock – crafted with materials and battery life built to last. If you’re looking to make your own music, simply plug in your mic or guitar cords into the inputs to put on a show. Make a mark through pre-set light patterns to give your party even more flash. Built solely around sound, this box offers different modes to choose from, letting you select just how heavy you want the bass to hit. Indoor and outdoor modes allow for the best sound quality in your environment, letting you take the music anywhere you go.

I didn’t know what the ‘flux stabilization ring’ was, so I asked JBL about that. JBL explained that the flux stabilization ring is a shorting ring that stabilizes the magnetic field created by the motor magnet from modulations due to the opposition field generated from the voice coil’s movement. These higher-excursion woofers use a cast basket for a more stable structure than would be had with a stamped steel basket of less expensive designs. I wasn’t able to get a close look at the bare drivers since a trim ring covers the frame screws, and I wasn’t sure I could remove the trim ring without damaging it. Portable party speaker with powerful 100W sound, built-in dynamic light show, and splash proof design.

In these tests, the JBL 4349 Studio Monitors displayed one of their very few flaws – their inability to avoid sounding boxy in comparison to speakers such as the Magnepan LRS. From the album “Schöne Tanz Klassik für die Kleinen” comes this selection of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. With the JBL 4349 Studio Monitors, you get a good soundstage of the players with a particularly vivid sense of the instruments.

Since the release of the next-generation JBL Flip 5 and JBL Flip 6 speakers, the JBL Flip 4 has become a great budget option. You can find this small, versatile speaker in many different colors and styles. It's lightweight and easy to carry, and it even comes with a carrying strap to help you transport it with you on the go. It's rated IPX7 for water resistance, so it's certified to be immersed in up to a meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Now I’ll warn you that you may have trouble finding a CD-quality copy of this music. I wasn’t able to find one online (other than in a reduced-quality YouTube version). So I purchased a copy of the original vinyl album, then persuaded my audio amigo, Russell Coco, to rip the vinyl to CD-quality digital. Being a tinkerer, I immediately began fiddling with the HF and UHF adjusters on the front of the speakers. But I decided quickly that the 4349s sounded most neutral with those tone controls at their zero positions, and left them alone after that.

Some have better sound quality, some have better features and some cost less. The JBL GO 3 is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, which means it’s reasonably dustproof, and it can handle full submersion in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes. However, while it’s plenty durable, this isn’t exactly ideal for someone looking for a pool speaker for one reason—it doesn’t float.

Basically, take care of your product and you’ll get the best results for the longest time. Whether you’re comfortable connecting your playlist via Bluetooth or you want to go old school and plug it in, this PartyBox accommodates either option with the addition of a USB playlist option. Working from the original design of the first model, the JBL Xtreme 2 adds new elements of style to an already killer speaker system.

For a better-built JBL speaker, check out the JBL Boombox 3, rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. When I first started to listen to the JBL HDI-3800, I was struggling a bit to figure out where these sit in the marketplace, and who exactly they were made for. They lacked the bass output of a similarly priced Revel F208 or the GoldenEar Triton Ones at the same price. They are more expensive than the JBL L100 with a lot of fun-factor and they don’t have the analytical presentation of the audiophile-type speakers in that price range. So how do I write an article about a speaker that you can’t place in a specific category? Well after plenty of listening to a wide variety of music, I found them to be created to appeal to the masses who aren’t in the market for a narrowly focused speaker.
